Elect a Sheriff who will take public safety in Clinton County to a higher level of effectiveness, efficiency and professionalism.

John Davis has the education, experience, leadership skills, vision and commitment to provide the citizen’s of Clinton County with the high quality public safety services essential for the well-being of our growing community.

John graduated from Mt. St. Clare College with a degree in Business Administration and he began working for the college after graduation in Admissions and as the Women’s basketball coach.  John also coached at Prince of Peace and is currently the 8th Grade girls and boys basketball coach at Lyons Middle School.  For the last seven years John has been with the Clinton Police Department were he has been involved in many ways.  John is a Field Training Officer, Crisis Negotiator, Crime Scene Team Member, Bicycle Officer and is currently assigned as a School Resource Officer at Lyons Middle School.  John also runs the Safety Town Program and helped get the “Shop with a Cop” program started here in Clinton. 

"I realized my experience alone would not be enough to be a successful candidate for the Sheriff’s position so I went back to college and in the spring of 2007 I received my Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from St. Ambrose University.  As you can see, based on my experience and education, I am ready and eager to take on the new challenge of serving Clinton County as Sheriff." - John Davis
